My grandfather & 3 uncles all have pieces written about them. One of my uncles was actually awarded 15 star & victory & British War medals, serving in the Royal Field Artillery.
Amazing 8-)

I’ve laughed, cheered and even cried  with this one. Cracking read, and highly recommended.

I understand the author did too.
:D, glad I wasn’t the only one, especially when Grandma departed

I knew nothing about it until I had a message via Facebook regarding the book & it may be of interest to me. My granddad served in the Crimean War & at the age of 46 volunteered to take a part in WW1. The whole book is inspirational & I keep having to wipe the odd tear away. As a generation we are so blessed we never had to go through what these amazing men had to.
A certain amount of pride, I’m buzzing.

I got into a stupid heated debate a year or so back with Matthew and a few of his friends (they were 15 or 16) playing Call of Duty or something similar and saying naive things like "How hard could it be just spending your day shooting and sniping people, war must be so much fun!" I know they know no better but really did have to apologise the next day for putting them straight. Even watching the the most graphic documentaries cannot give you an once of what those men went through.

Lee Child’s latest Jack Reacher book Blue Moon which is very disappointing perhaps it’s time to come to an end with this character, shame because the early books were excellent.
