Superb story - a military manga set in the future following an alien invasion.
Two soldiers are stuck in a timeloop - a bit like Groundhog Day - which allows them to increase their skills on the battlefield every "day" that they wake up. But at the same time, the aliens are also getting better, so between them the two warriors must find a way to stop the loop from starting over every time they die.

It's beautiful to look at and a rivetting tale.

... but in the book, the woman is the better soldier. Been a while since I saw the movie, mind you ...
