Never really one who played board games but love playing crib ( fifteen two, fifteen four :D ) also dominoes either straight or fives & threes. As a kid we always played Newmarket on Christmas Day, great fun. What about you ;)

Love poker, used to regularly play in a monthly school. £10 in and play with casino chips winner takes all. Great nights entertainment for £10 and a few beers. Also like a game of Gin. Like yourself not really a board game lover but played dominoes for the first time when on holiday there as there was a set in the villa. Must have been pretty old set as spots had rubbed off a few of the pieces but a Sharpie soon fixed that!

Pubs before they became glorified restaurants there was always a domino school or two on the go. Also darts back in the 70’s a lad from my local got to the News of the World championships in London ( big competition in those days ) we all travelled down to see him beaten in the 1st round, great day out though.

Gosh I haven’t played dominoes for years, used to love it the sound of the shuffling of them. Used to play ten pence a spot. The look on faces if they were left with double six was priceless. Darts as well was something I enjoyed as well as pool. Getting all sentimental here.

Yes, dart. We like probably millions of homes had the bristle dartboard on the back of the kitchen door. My dad had made the box for it so as to save the door. Didn't stop some of us hitting it though. Funny enough the only one to carry on playing was my mother after my dad passed, she joined a ladies team and loved it. Got her out and about.

As a teenager my local The Three Horseshoes ( sadly closed now ) in Pickering had two/three darts teams, a dominoes team & a five & threes team. One of the lads had a van so we often used to go to away games. There was always sandwiches & chips on offer at the end. Back to board games I never understood anyone that enjoyed Monopoly I reckon it caused more family arguments than anything else. I like Trivial Pursuit & bought one for when we had friends over.

I think there’s probably more ladies playing today than ever before. A friend of mine lives down south & his house was worth around £700k & this was a while back. He was a builder & he started getting back problems. He hit upon the idea of moving to the East Midlands & buying a similar house but leaving him with nearly half a million in equity but his wife refused to move because she would miss her darts nights with her friends :D

When knee injuries took their toll, I played darts with local pub team for many years - loved the travelling and long nights out.

Herself got interested then, hit her first 180 within weeks, went on to play for county in National Championships. She was a great basketball player (she's tiny, but played as runner/playmaker), so that probably helped her eye when it came to darts.
Started beating me with 12 and 13 dart finishes within a few months... I kinda retired and sat back (drank pints :D) after that  .

Never really a board game fan, needed the adrenaline of physical sport, football/hurling/basketball/rugby.
