When we stayed in Venice Bed & Breakfast afew years ago. I couldn't believe my luck when we went down for Breakfast, there was a array of sweet choices better than a cake shop in England. Needless to say i thought if it works for the Italians. They also did the best Omelette i have ever had.
Over here...Full English with tinned tomatoes so you can mop the juice up with a bacon & egg sarnie with plenty of Brown sauce. Does it get any better?

A fried bacon and egg sandwich in white toast is bit of a treat.

Can't believe I forgot - mushrooms.johnh wrote:The best breakfast I ever had was when I stayed at the White Lion in Hebden Bridge. Stayed there many times when visiting my parents who lived in Hebden Bridge in their later years. Served on a big oval dinner plate, the contents were still sizzling from the cooking. 2 fried eggs, unsmoked bacon, tomato's, beans, hash browns. Toast or fried bread. Just a memory now, unfortunately.
I once played against Don Revie.

NW, If ever you are travelling north up the A1 Lumby Garden Centre use the Square Sausage, we sometimes come home that way and stop for lunch and have their Sausage & Bacon Sarnie. Its right on the A1 junction with the A63.NottinghamWhite wrote:Just thought about Scottish square sausages now they’re lovely. Last time I had one was from a roadside vendor somewhere in The Highlands.
Talking Scotland had Haggis a couple of times at breakfast when we toured the north coast, really enjoyed it.

During the winter when we are on cabbage season we have bubble & squeak which is lovely with bacon & a fried egg (runny ) on it.

I like
- crispy streaky bacon
- really good quality eggs, fried, but poached or scrambled is ok too
- large mushrooms
- tinned plum tomatoes
- Lidl's black pudding - their Warren and Son brand is one of the best I ever tasted, 4 pieces for 75 pence!
- Grilled Cumberland sausage, if there's no black pudding
I'm ok with baked beans, but not with breakfast.
