The Glam rock era brings back a lot of memories as it clashed with my teenage years and first musical taste.
Great Times and Sweet were a big part of that period.

RIP Steve

Teenage Rampage was the first single I bought and I still love it.

Saw The Sweet several times over the years and they were always a great night out.

My first favourite band, I even joined their fan club despite being too young to understand half of what was going on. Steve was hilarious in my eyes with all his make-up and gallivanting/pouting on stage yet I was pretty repulsed when Bowie was ever made-up etc in his Ziggy days and Aladdin Sane time.

Only ever saw one version of The Sweet and that was about five years ago in York, with a version of Slade too. Cracking gig regardless of the lack of original band members.

RIP

ps Brian Connelly was Taggart's brother in real life wasn't he??

Mine too ANS.

By the way, he was fostered by the McManus family so not strictly related.

Mark Chapman, host of Match of the day 2 and tends to host the FA Cup draw, has lost his wife after a long illness. She was only 44.
