Indeed. And some of the greatest fans - and I mean the Scots in general.
I was lucky enough to go to Milan to watch them play AC at the San Siro around six months earlier and that was a childhood dream for me.
I'd visited when I was 11 but not to see a game, just to walk round what was then a giant concrete bowl. I had an Italian GF from Milan when I was at university in London and she was a "Milano" fan so I followed them after that, but to actually go over there with 15,000 Celts and watch Maldini play in the flesh ? Amazing.
Not a drop of trouble from the fans. We ended up being interviewed pre-match on Sky, then finished the night in The Hilton with a bunch of American models, the Sky TV crew who'd filmed us earlier - and they bought us a round - and then Billy McNeill walked in with Davie Provan and we got to meet them too.
We were so late getting back to our hotel, we slept in and missed the flight. It went from being the best cheap city break ever to the best quite expensive city break ever
