That's down to me.
The other thread was being diverted from its original course - which is why I closed it, out of respect, and started a new one - and BW himself suggested discussing it elsewhere.
I then challenged him to do just that, so here we are ..

Re: Outstanding Issues
really? I should apologise cos my opinion upset some members?Selby White wrote:Having been away a couple of days and only on my phone I've not got involved in this discussion that is spiralling.
BW, You may not like this but now having read all your posts I think its time to back off as the discussion is bouncing all over the place and not good for the forum.
Its clear your comment did upset a few members which I can understand having once known someone who committed suicide, it clearly raised concern with the moderators.
You say :-However reading Soviets comment its clear that was directly related to the recent death.blackpool white wrote: my comment was in direct response to sovietmule's attack on the press
Your comment as well as Soviets was in the deceased thread so looks as if its in direct relation to what happened.
Whether you meant it or not its clear that's how members read it so for me a swift retraction and apology would have been the right thing to do.
I started this thread as I did not want the discussion to sour the departed thread. Another member comments earlier in the thread that you are like "a dog with a bone" well can I suggest you bury that bone and apologise for your comment that offended some members then move on to some decent forum discussions.

Yes I think the fact it upset a lot of members should tell you it was wrong, but that's your decision.
I can understand why you started it but can't see the point in it. Sometimes it's best to take a deep breath and a step back.

More deflection ?
Seriously ??
BW : if you still don't think what you said was wrong then I suggest you try a different Leeds United forum where more extreme views are the norm.
I'm sure you know we don't allow swearing and strive to be a family-friendly forum and while yes, technically, you haven't contravened any of that or broken any site rules, the fact that so many of us are up in arms about this should at least get a few alarm bells ringing in your head.
We've tried to be balanced about it and have a reasoned debate but you still don't think you need to apologise.
I don't think we can get through to you.
Try reading some of the stuff I posted, that might help in that regard, but please don't try and change the subject by talking about world hunger.

Re: Outstanding Issues
I make no apologies for suggesting that 5000 children dying every day through starvation is more concerning that 1 woman with enough money to feed thousands of children, yet choosing to die.
does that sound extreme to you?
does that sound extreme to you?
Re: Outstanding Issues
You're talking to a lifelong socialist who is staggered every day by the stupidity, gullibility and heartlessness of the people in this country let alone the rest of the world.
But you're deflecting.
You're not taking any of this in, are you ?

Re: Outstanding Issues
BW sadly your posts are now reaching an all time low despite my earlier advice to back off. So after discussion with other mods as we've done previously we are putting you on a two week suspension to cool off.
After which you are welcome to come back and take part in the many threads that you normally make valid contributions. It's up to you.
