Unfortunately not. He just reiterated the need for people not to go out unless it's for food shopping or work and never with someone from another household. I'll give it til the weekend and there will be some sort of curfew because there are too many idiots that ignore him & think they know better.

Now it was bad enough that people went to Bondi Beach in Sydney in large groups but can someone tell me why people are still jamming into the tube trains in London, it was on the news here in Australia????
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

wow! I would have thought the tubes, trains and buses would have been stopped long ago. Whatever about a personal car it's your choice to get around with your family, but this is not good regardless of the excuses people will have for it. I'm not even allowed get into the car with my wife and vice versa if we need essential shopping done. 1 pass is all we're given per household and it covers one person ONLY from the family. I know this sounds harsh but it is what it is and I personally agree with it. If she goes out, I'm at home minding the kids and she texts me when she is on the way back so i can prepare some clean up before she comes into the house. Kids are told to go to their room as I do when she arrives and she goes straight into the shower for a wash. It's a routine which is a bit different, but were taking the right precautions. I'm not risking her or the kids and she is the same.

What it really comes down to here is basically the level of value you have on yourself and the people around you. If you have low value then you should walk into the nearest hospital and look at those who are suffering from this virus to appreciate the life you have and the lives of those you live with. Take no risks with this thing. I am in the high risk bracket and so is our son who has TB-3 and just had an operation so we take it very seriously.

Yes was a bit of an own goal the tube in London, they cut number of trains too early. Idea was for only essential workers to use public transport but lots of others were still working.
Mistakes will happen, some will ignore advice & rules but in the whole I think the vast majority seem to have got the message.

A small service is still running simply so essential workers can get to work.

Yes most of the papers are reporting it apparently lots of people are ignoring the lockdown rules in London, idiots IMHO.
Doesn't help when the London Mayor is saying Police shouldn't be checking people entering tube stations to see if essential workers

Personally wouldn't dream of getting on a tube train while this virus is rife.

To live in London, no matter how rich or how poor, to get by I really think everyone has to grow an ignoramus bone. There are many that are also blessed (in their own opinion) with a superiority complex and a selfish attitude. In most circumstances, visitors to the Capital can survive by taking not a lot of notice but when you get a crisis like the one we have currently some of those behaviors are underlined, in bold capitals and highlighted. Also, they will be the first to complain and will be the loudest

OK. Just to try to put things in perspective.

There are a lot of people behaving like idiots,we have all seen that. To counter that there are a lot of people behaving incredibly well. I had to go to our local Tesco Express this morning because I was out of the essentials (bread, milk, cigarettes) and the staff are working like trojans. The girl on the till couldn't have been more than about 21 years old and she is clearly a bit concerned about being in contact with so many people but she is still doing it! Please give the shop staff a kind word if/when you have to go for food. Additionally, wouldn't it be nice if the shop owners and, or, government promised those people who we rely on to keep working during this crisis a bonus/extended holiday as soon as things are better?

I was thinking about your last point, especially as I qualify, but I seriously doubt we'll get anything.

If one positive from all this is that shop staff get treated with more respect then that'll be something worth celebrating.
I worked in retail for over twenty years and it just got worse and worse as the years rolled by, even though I was an "expert" working in a specialised "destination" store, ie a record shop, and not just in a "passing trade" style food or clothing store.
ALL retail staff, ALL waiting staff, ALL bar staff, in fact EVERYONE who works in any kind of customer facing role deserves a chuffing medal for some of the utter shyte they have to put up with, day in and day out.

I always make sure I'm polite and say hello and thank you to anyone who ever "serves" me in any capacity.
It's the least you can do as a human being.

I actually think every single child in the country should do some form of work experience in such a role to help stop us turning out so many entitled idiots, but I've been saying that for years and the only people who agree are the ones who've done it themselves.
