To be honest I expected some actual Aussie movies like -
Gallipoli
Kokoda
Breaker Morant
The Light Horseman
ANZACS Miniseries

Not that I'm complaining!
Have seen Gallipoli & The Lighthorseman, have Breaker Morant on DVD in my war collection but can't recall the other two.

Kokoda was made in the mid 2000's, based on a true story. Watch it.

ANZACS was made in mid 80's, actually first saw it in the UK, watched it bout 5 yrs ago and although a bit aged still enjoyed it.
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

I was listening to Mark Kermode on the radio yesterday afternoon and he recommended a low-budget film called Sea Fever and we watched it last night.
It's a co-production between Scots, Irish, English and Danish studios and the movie is set on a trawler off the west coast of Ireland. Dougray Scott plays the Danish captain but the rest of the cast were unknown to me (but all excellent) and the story revolves around a student scientist carrying out some research on oceanic anomalies during a routine fishing trip. Such vessels often allow this kind of thing as the universities pay a handsome fee as it saves them a lot of hassle doing it from their end.
The film is a slow-reveal thriller with elements of horror and sci-fi and is really well put together as it shows you just enough of what's going on to grip you and make you ask questions as you watch it.
I won't say anymore for spoilers, but it's brilliant - give it a go

Flicking through the TV Channels last night came across a Old Western to watch that I'd not seen before "Five Card Stud" with Dean Martin & Robert Mitchum.
