Are you in a wine club NW?

We are not as often get cash back from our bank (20% up to £30) for Laithwates or more recently Averys (who are actually owned by Laithwaites) so order a couple of cases at a time to get the full £30 and free postage.
As we have a joint account both Cathy and myself get the cash back so usually order a 2nd batch when the offer is on at the bank using our different cards.

Have thought about wine club but worked out we are better ordering in bulk as and when we get a deal.

No Mate pretty the son in law said they weren’t delivering at the moment. Problem is with supply & demand being what it there’s no wines discounted at the moment. Tesco seem to have relaxed the number of bottles of each wine you can buy it was just 3 for home delivery but I’ve put 6 down for our next drop & the website hasn’t said I’ve ordered too many. Majestic aren’t cheap but we had a mixed case sent to both daughters & that arrived yesterday.

Well we start week 15 in self isolation. Our youngest came to see us on Saturday & we sat in the garden at a distance more than recommended but had a pleasant half an hour. As she exited through the garage we stood at the front window to wave her off when to our surprise Mark our son in law appeared with the grandkids, which was wonderful. We chatted to them through the window for 10 minutes then they left. Made our day/week/month/year those 10 minutes.

How did yesterday go Mick ?

Enjoyed it and of course Cathy was over the moon to meet the Grandchild at last.

We drove down using the M1 (they live in Leighton Buzzard) arriving around 12noon. We spent the afternoon in their garden and Cathy's son did a BBQ lunch for us. He's a chef by trade so always a bit of quality food and drink, although we could only have one glass of wine as were driving back later.

We stayed until 4ish and drove back using the A1 its a nicer drive imho stopping off at Rutland water for our evening meal (a cheese sarnie we took with us :D ).

It was great just to socialise with someone again and we were saying on the way down they were the last people we had spent time with (we stayed at theirs the weekend before lockdown).

Nice day and don't think it will be too long before the next trip.

Happy to hear you guys get out and see family especially the young ones, I've been doing it slowly with my parents but this week we are back to almost normal where they get 2 days with my daughter, it's so beautiful to see. Enjoy guys!

Really pleased you had such a nice day NW. Agree with you about the A1. Always used that option rather than the M1, more and better options to stop. Find a nice pub rather than Motorway Services.

Glad to hear it went well SW, and you both enjoyed your day

The eldest daughter had a phone call yesterday informing her that it’s back to work next Monday.

Well we’ve kept to our routine usually up around 06:30 cup of coffee, showered & a shave & dressed it would be easy to sit around in pj’s all day but didn’t want to fall into that trap. The sunshine helps but need a few neighbours to get back to work we’re not used to noise during the week. Had a lovely phone call over the weekend our 2 good friends both early 70’s are going to be grandparents for the first time & are they made up :D

Enjoyed our street garden party on Sunday with the neighbours using two gardens to social distance.

In fact we enjoyed it that much we all dragged our chairs out again last night to do it again.
Sent out for pizzas for our meal added to beers from the fridge made for a very enjoyable evening.

Think it could become a regular neighbourhood get together as everyone enjoyed it.
