For at least a week now, I've been staring at my reflection in the bathroom mirror, then staring at the leccy hair trimmer in my hand, before thinking "Nah, maybe next week".

Mind you, I've tried combing it back this morning, and it sorta naturally fell into a centre parting ...... takes years off me, so maybe that's the way forward?

Have the clippers myself. Have cut my own hair for the past 10 years. Funny though as I've not cut mine or shaved since this all kicked off.

I stick to the low maintenance method and shave it myself every week, have been for years.

Mrs SW keeps saying she needs hers doing but hasn't let me have a bash yet :D

I had a ponytail for a bit in the mid-eighties. Think I might have another one soon.

I have probably only paid for about 10 haircuts in my adult life.

I hated going to the barbers as a child as they seemed to pull it out rather than cut it - so I probably have some sort of trauma from that.

I have cut my own hair with a buzzy thing for the last 30 years and I am on my third buzzy thing - total cost about thirty quid.

Any top tips, then, to avoid making a complete bollox of it?

Must admit, I’m reaching the point where I’m going to have to do something, so any tips appreciated.
When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

Lubricate the buzzy thing with the oil it comes with or use veg oil from the cupboard.

Do the longest comb thingy in as many directions as you can reach for 5 minutes then go down a size.

Do another 5 mins then go down a size and do another 5 mins all over.
.
Put the shortest fitting on and go around the edges - if you can get someone else to help with this bit it might be good.

oil the buzzy thing before you put it away.
