I would say the tide started turning about 30 years ago. I think what put me off coffee was living with an aunt for a few years as a nipper, they only ever drank Camp ..... vile stuff.
Oh, I don't know - as an iced drink in the summer I think it's alright. I'd still rather make a real one though : espresso in a blender with some milk and ice :D

Can't remember when I last had a coffee. PG Tips or Yorkshire for me. Can't remember when I last had a rich tea either, never dunk.

Davy's comment on Camp coffee reminded me. It was all you could get during the war and, growing up, I thought that was the only coffee that existed. In a bottle it was and a couple of teaspoon fulls in a cup of hot water. Always fascinated by the picture on the bottle. A British Officer sitting in a chair and being served coffee by an Indian soldier. Then, after the war, I eventually found out that coffee actually came in powder and not liquid.
I once played against Don Revie.

Camp ingredients: sugar, water, chicory extract & dried coffee extract 4%.
I started to make a comparison to argue why it's obviously not coffee, but fatigue took the better of me and I gave up after several failed attempts... :!:

I prefer PG Tips, but Tetley and Yorkshire also good.
A hot, strong, cup of PG Tips has a very mild sweet fruit flavour as opposed to the slightly burned taste of most others.
