Mark Selby through in a decent game against Jamie Jones.

Have to say, I liked the attitude of Jones, had a real go there.

Hawkins bows out to debutant Jackson Page.

ROS tipped 4 surprises in the first round, that’s one already.

Arguably the second upset of the first round as Brecel is beaten by Saengkham, so just the two upsets in Round 1 unless Vafaei does something stupid against Trump.

When Mrs SW & myself went to the Barbican to watch in December Saengkham was one of the players we saw (against ROS) , hadn't heard of him before that.

Snooker day today, our annual trip to the Crucible

We’ve got Wilson v Bingham to a finish, currently locked at 8-8.

Nothing showing on BBC2 this afternoon, session finished early. Surprise, surprise. We got a cooking program!

Had a cracking day yesterday, arrived early so poppped into the winter gardens to watch the BBC folk doing their recordings, and some of the fans trying their luck at the various games dotted about.

The games themselves were excellent too, the quality of their play is something else, with both Bingham and Noppon just missing out in 147’s.

As usual, all the players were milling about chatting, spoke with Ken Doherty, Shaun Murphy, Stuart Bingham, Kyren Wilson, Stephen Maguire and Judd Trumps dad
