Game shows

Post by NottinghamWhite »

So what’s everyone’s all time game shows ? Mine are…

The Price is Right ( Bruce Forsyth )
Strike it Lucky ( Michael Barrymore)
Blankety Blank ( Les Dawson )

Thought Barrymore’s interviews on Strike it Lucky were some of the funniest television I’ve ever seen, what a wasted talent. Certain people were so good at certain programmes and actually made the programmes more enjoyable.

The ultimate for me was Jim Bowen in Bullseye. One of the funniest men ever on TV for me. Used to like Charlie Williams in The Golden Shot.

Question of Sport in the early days was a must watch for me, lost its way now.

I like to watch both The Chase and Pointless nowadays.usually have them on while having my tea (Pointless live and Chase on ITV+1).
Love the idea of pointless but not a fan of Alexander Armstrong or Richard Osman, now if Bradley Walsh and any of the Chasers took it over it would be top of my list.

Countdown with Richard Whiteley was no. 1 by a long way.
I once played against Don Revie.

We were in the audience for Deal or no Deal many moons ago, the fella had the £250,000 in his box but dealt way too early.

Ah! Yes the late great Richard. His English teacher at school was Russell Harty. He had great rapport with Carole Vorderman.

I didn’t realise until some time afterwards that the banker is a relatively well known actor, I recognised him anyway when his picture appeared.
