We enjoy these old movies they have a certain charm but are predictable. Mills was a great actor & father to my first schoolboy crush HayleyDavycc wrote:Don't remember that one NW any good?NottinghamWhite wrote:Today cinematic extravaganza is the Long Memory starring John Mills.

Today’s movie is A Day to Remember starring Stanley Holloway & Donald Sinden. My real favourite is Will Hay love his movies Oh Mr Porter, Convict 99 & Ask a Policeman he was usually accompanied by Graham Moffatt & Moore Marriott, fabulously funny characters.

My interpretation of 'old movies' is 'silent films'. The films mentioned on here were known as 'talkies' or, really modern, 'in colour'.
I once played against Don Revie.

Anyone remember "Wild at Heart" where Stephen Tomkinson is a Vet in South Africa.
Well Mrs SW said she loved it and I found the episodes on YouTube so most nights we are binge watching it.
Only saw an odd episode in the past but really enjoying it.
Currently half way through series 5, not sure how many they made.

Hayley Mills again, she’s aged very well there’s a Faf du Plessis who plays cricket for South Africa & I always think of the old lad from Wild at Heart when he’s mentionedSelby White wrote:Anyone remember "Wild at Heart" where Stephen Tomkinson is a Vet in South Africa.
