I watched the first episode and thought it was a load of old tosh.

Couldn't see what the fuss was all about.

Crime stuff needs to be really well written for me, when it's violent at least, as I don't like glorifying it. Same with the hooligan culture stuff.
It's all macho posturing and machismo is the worst character trait going IMHO.

Spot on. I've witnessed real violence in gangs/organisations in real life. Far better to let the imagination do the talking rather than be graphic.
