Currently reading The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill. This book was a winner of The Commonwealth Writers prize. My favourite quote on this book comes from Independent on Sunday " A colossal achievement...heart rendering yet inspiring "

Just bought & now reading A Banquet of Consequences by Elizabeth George. She's one of those authors that when you start to read it's hard to put down. The book stars DI Tommy Lynley & his sidekick DS Barbara Havers.

I'm reading The Third Policeman by Irish writer Brian O'Nolan/Flann O'Brien.
I'd read that it's a great classic and extremely funny but at the moment all I can say is it's very weird and not like any book I've ever read before.
Incidentally, I seem to read it in an internal Irish accent.
Does anyone else do that or is it just me ?

Yes, I do, but only when the character is Irish.rigger wrote:I'm reading The Third Policeman by Irish writer Brian O'Nolan/Flann O'Brien.
