haha and that was before I seen the arcade game in the corner love it. Why can't you live in blackpool id be round once a week no fail. It's the type of pad you long for when your shacked up with a woman who decorates most of the house with Pugs & Horses. The stereo sounds top. What make of speakers are they, and what's the two black boxes on the floor in front of the records. "are they pre -amps" or what ever they call them.

Power amps.

They're Meridian monoblocks so one of them runs the left speaker and the other the right.
The pre-amp is the grey NAD in the rack.

Most "normal" amps are really "integrated amplifiers" ie they have pre- and power-circuits inside the same box.

The speakers are Celestion F30s and are easy to find on eBay for under a hundred quid - I only paid £70 for mine, but they were around £200 when new.
The Meridians I paid £300 for second-hand, the NAD £100,
The monoblocks are the heart of the system and why it sounds so good.

As for the "bachelor pad" .. yeah, it's precisely that.
I've lived here for twenty five years and have had several mates move in after getting divorced or breaking up with gfs.

Pop round anytime you're down south :D

Been on a jazz guitar tip myself, tonight.

Al Di Meola's weirdly brilliant jazz-funk-fusion noodle-fest Alien Chase on Arabian Desert.
Very proggy, really .. like an instrumental blend of early Level 42 and Genesis with a dash of Joe Satriani :

I'm not a big fan of smooth jazz - it's just so much lift muzak for the most part - but I do love George Benson and one of his protegés is Earl Klugh, who now stands on his own as one of the great acoustic guitarists that ever walked the earth.
This is an early cover of a Marvin Gaye classic and it's very funky indeed :

Had the pleasure of seeing Osibisa live at Finsbury Park Astoria, probably 1971....
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....

Paul - I can't believe how we've missed knowing we're Earl Klugh fans!
