Curious information, have you got any?

Post by Aces »

Just reading this about the 1923 FA cup final between Bolton and West Ham - ^ The official attendance for the 1923 final was reported as 126,047, but the actual figure is believed to be anywhere between 150,000 and 300,000.

I find this amazing.

Anyone else got anything curiously strange to share with everyone?
We are Leeds, we have to believe our new players are good enough, encourage and support them and help them grow in to a team to be reckoned with. MoT

Yeah, I've got one: Kevin Kilbane has the second longest run of consecutive competitive international appearances of all time in worldwide football with 66, just four behind England legend, Billy Wright :wtf:

I'm sure I read somewhere once that, Michael Owen had never scored more than 20 goals in a season at any of his clubs.

Probably because he was injured, BB.

How about Shearer ?? Didn't he score on all his debuts too, including England ?

7 key players in the fight to stay in the Prem (selected by The Guardian). Of the 7 three learnt how to do it at ER, Delph, Snoddy and Wickham. Hope they have better luck than our Pompey contingent. Lufc, the home of relegation battlers. Strange, rather than curious maybe?

Found these on'tinternet:

In all his professional career, Gary Lineker didn't receive a yellow card.

Every year except for two (1930 and 1950) European Teams have reached every World Cup final.

When Fernando d'Ercoli (team Pianta) was given a red card in a game, he became so mad that he snatched the card from the referee and ate it.

An English Manager has never won the Premier League.

In the World Cup of 1974 there was only one team that wasn’t beaten
throughout the tournament, which was Scotland with two draws and a
win – it wasn’t enough to see them through to the knock-out stages though!
