I didn't have the foggiest on any of these so I looked up the Barnes lad on Wiki. It seems he's a local lad - to me, that is, being Bath-born. Horrible tackle on Matic, mind, innum.

Slightly off topic but I was tired of hearing in the press on Monday that Barnes isn't that type of player. I've always thought of him as a right niggly so and so. He always seems to be looking to wind people up and get them into trouble with referees. Wasn't it Barnes that got Austin sent off last season against Brighton?

Thanks to everyone who had a crack at this without Google or Wiki.

Just a reminder that there is still time to have a guess before the answers are revealed shortly before the Watford game...
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....

I'm sure you've all been holding your breath waiting for the next edition of this puzzler to come out, so here you are! Just a reminder to any newbies: no googling, wiki etc or else there's no point....

1. There are 4 towns/cities that have only one vowel (including 'y' as a vowel) in the UK having a population over 24,000. Can you name them?

2. I was slightly surprised to be reminded that in 1975 there were five substitutes permitted in the European Cup. On that cruel night of May 28th in Paris David Stewart was our man between the posts. But who was our reserve keeper warming the bench that night?

3. What are Dgernesiais, Sercquiais and Jerriais? Hint: it's (almost) a domestic issue......

4. Who is the (now ex-) player with the 5th highest number of appearances in the Premiership/Football League?

Forgot to mention that I'll be making the answers known shortly before the Cardiff game.

Regarding question 3 Dgernesiais has an alternative spelling Guernesiais, if that helps at all
