mapperleywhite wrote:Here we go again for the final time this season, answers to be revealed shortly before the Rotherham game. Remember no googling, wiki etc please!
1. What is the UK's largest town or city without a Primark?
The good citizens of York have to schlep the 20 odd miles to Harrogate to get their cheap undies
2. Which occasion attracted the fifth largest UK TV audience ever for a one-off event, an accolade it shares with the wedding of Charles and Diana at 28.4 million viewers?
Magnificent effort by Selby! Yes it was our replayed FA Cup final in 1970. It was the third time the final was shown in colour
3. It's only possible to type the names of six countries in the world without using the middle row of a standard qwerty keyboard. Which are they? Clue: none are in Europe or Oceania
Great effort by Rigger and Selby: Benin, Mexico, Morocco, Peru and Yemen are correct! But missing is Brunei....
4. Only four players have scored in two different World Cup finals. Unsurprisingly I hadn't heard of the Brazilian Vava (1958 and 1962), but can you name the other three?
Blimey Rigger nailed this one in no time! Pele, Zidane and Breitner are the answers. I'm surprised about Breitner as I thought he was a left back...
5. Excluding Russia which European country does not operate daylight saving time?
Bit sneaky I know but it's Iceland
6. What is the largest town or city in the UK beginning with the letter T?
Well done Selby again. It is indeed Telford with a population approaching 143,000, so in a Yorkshire context between Doncaster and York

Re: Random Quiz
Breitner played the majority of his career in midfield, mate.
I only know it because on my blog I'm doing a "My Top 4" looking at the four best players in each position of all time.
Only got the centre-forward to do now and it's done:

Re: Random Quiz
Another good quiz, I'm always in York and can't believe I didn't realise there was no Primark
Knew the Chelsea match was up near the top of the TV audience list as once used it in a quiz myself.
Think I also got Iceland, was a guess that one.
Stayed in Telford few years back so remembered it was quite big.
Keep them coming

Yes you did Selby, sorry about that....

It's lower profile because it doesn't have a prominent football team, especially now they've just been relegated to conference north
Keep them coming
