Last Man/Woman Standing. Weekend 8th September.

Post by Malcolm Stark »

So, we unfortunately lost Barlow Boy (Oxford), ruelfox (Swindon), and Selby White (Sheff Weds) during the last round, therefore only Morientes, Sheepy and myself remain in this much talked-about and sought-after tournament.

Same rules as last time. Different Football League teams to win.

If we all remain after this week, I'll raise the bar a little :D

Damn, no championship this week, I haven't followed league 1 and 2 much this year. I'll have to have a little think. Can't believe you got through after picking Leeds!

It was a little, erm, impetuous? :D

Loved it when McCormack hit the winner, though. As a football fan, you understand?

I am a football fan, though, and recognise Leeds as a better footballing team than Ipswich. I hate the term neutral. That certainly isn't me, I assure you. It suggests a lack of passion. Call me a neutral, again, try it.

Oh did I say neutral? I meant insipid
I sort of know what you mean though, when I watch premier league games, although I'm not a 'fan' of any of the clubs per se, I always know who I prefer and who I want to win and feel strongly about it, but I'd still say you have to be able to describe that as something. Dispassionate without being unimpassioned, impartial but still with emotion etc. Neutral seems as good a word as any to me, I don't think it suggest no passion, nor even a lack of preference, just a lack of bias.

I'm going for Portsmouth, but don't really give a monkey's ar$e who wins, really. Cheltenham DO look particularly rubbish though. Maybe they're the first and last Gloucestershire team to play in the Football League?

I did REALLY want Leeds to beat Ipswich, mind. You can't stay on this site and not attain some sort of feeling for the team. It's a bit like spending a Summer with the Amazonian natives. You do get involved....

It's about time you were back anyway. :)
