Decades

Post by Deleted User 728 »

Four players have played top-flight football in England across four different decades - can you name them ?

(just to clarify, that means playing in, say, the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s - so they may have made their debut in 1949 and played their last match in 1970)

Peter Shilton (I think?) started in late 60's (I think?), well into his 40's before he hung up his gloves?

I heard this question from some lads on our coach back from West Brom. Trouble is I've forgotten the answers :D

Our own John Lukic.
Started with us in 1978, finished with the Gunners in 2001.

Stanley Matthews played until he was about 90 so I'm guessing he's on the list.

Well done, KKW - it's Oggy.

There was a piece in The Guardian today about him.
Lovely guy - good read : https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... n-football

Bloody 'ell, Oggy is 61 years old... Time certainly flies.

Great read Rigger. I never knew he was understudy to Ray Clemence in the European Cup wins of '78 and '81. Wow.
