Football Handicap - 2019/20

Post by Selby White »

Given the predictability of the Premier League and the fact I've played some Sports that run Handicap competitions to give all a chance I've developed a new prediction game based on teams having a handicap.

Rules :-
1. You pick two teams in both the Premier League & Championship prior to the season start (4 teams in total).
Each team will have a weighting factor (somewhere between 1 & 3)
This factor is multiplied by the teams points to give their game points.
eg Man City score 98pts weight 1 so end up with 98pts
& Newcastle say get 50pts but with weight of 2 get 100pts so would finish higher.

2. You can't pick the same two teams as anyone else in either division (one same but 2nd team needs then to be different).

3. Result is decided by sum total of all four of your teams.

4. Open to all forum members.

5. Will update with "as it stands" table at intervals through the season. Pick your 4 teams and watch them do the work for you.

So here goes :-

Premier League (Teams & Weighting Factor)-
Man City - 1
Liverpool - 1.1
Spurs - 1.3
Chelsea - 1.4
Arsenal - 1.4
Man Utd - 1.4
Wolves - 1.8
Everton - 1.9
Leicester - 2
Newcastle - 2
West Ham - 2.1
Watford - 2.1
Crystal Palace - 2.2
Aston Villa - 2.3
Bournemouth - 2.3
Southampton - 2.4
Burnley - 2.5
Brighton - 2.5
Norwich - 2.6
Sheff Utd - 3

Championship :-
Leeds - 1.1
Cardiff - 1.2
Fulham - 1.2
West Brom - 1.2
Middlesboro - 1.3
Stoke - 1.3
Derby - 1.4
Huddersfield - 1.4
Bristol City - 1.5
Forest - 1.5
Sheff Wed - 1.5
Brentford 1.6
Birmingham - 1.6
Preston - 1.6
Swansea - 1.6
Hull City - 1.7
Blackburn - 1.7
Luton - 1.9
QPR - 2
Wigan - 2
Charlton - 2.2
Millwall - 2.2
Reading - 2.2
Barnsley - 2.4

Well its now officially open, those who choose now obviously have benefit of picking who they want but others may want to wait until all the transfers have been done (but may then have limited options).

So just 4 teams to pick, two from each division (no two the same as anyone else in either division).

Any questions please ask.
