Thank god for that, was starting to think I'd made him up.
Fillip means to flick something with your finger, but that term is pretty uncommon so I used the other definition; it also means a stimulating bonus and I've noticed a few football commentators have added it to their arsenal of sporting terms so I thought it was recognisable enough and a better bet...
As for Al-, it means 'the' in Arabic, hence Al-qaeda (the leaders) and Al-Jazeera (the island).

Ok, giving cryptic clues is not my strong point I am more an obscure music trivia kind of bloke so this should be as easy as beating the scum in Europe........ Gin for the hit man's dancer. 70's to 90's
