So You remember Leeds Utd in the 80's

Post by Selby White »

Maybe you were too young for our recent 70's quiz but maybe remember the 80's a little better ?

1. In May 1980 we beat the enemy (Man Utd) in the final game of the season 2-0, who scored our goals ?

2. In 80/81 despite finishing 9th we had trouble finding the net only scoring 39 from 42 games. Who top scored with 9 goals ?

3. 81/81 Sadly relegation to League Two but which 2 Clubs finished below us ?

4. 82/83 and the start of 8 years in League Two wilderness, the scoring was now led by a Leeds born striker with 13 goals, who was he ?

5. 83/84 Knocked out in the 3rd round of the FA Cup following two replays but who by ?

6. 84/85 Signs of improvement finishing 7th in league two our highest position since relegation, but who was our manager ?

7. 85/86 We competed in new competition that was started by the FL losing to Man City (6-1) and drawing with Sheff Utd (1-1) in our northern section group, what was the competition called ?

8. Also 85/86 we had our lowest ever average attendance in our 100 year history, can you guess within 200 what it was ?

9. 86/87 was that epic FA Cup run, which 4 teams did we put out to reach the Semi ?

10. Also 86/87 We lost to Charlton in the Play Off final but who did we beat in the Semi ?

11. 87/88 Four Players with surnames beginning with the letter "S" scored for us through the season, Who were they ?

12. 88/89 How many games did Simon Grayson play for us ?

13. Who was Howard Wilkinson 5 big signings in preparation for the 89/90 promotion season ?

No googling.
They are not easy and no shame in getting them wrong.
