I'm going to guess Bangkok because I'm fairly sure it has a floating market and also we have Thai friends who are Buddhists.

Actually the location is not too far from Leeds!

Well Ripon has a racecourse and Cathedral.

Fountain could be Fountains Abbey (that's just hit me) but can't link the other two clues.
