Prediction Cricket Game

Post by Selby White »

This new game which in my opinion could be our best prediction game yet is now open for those wishing to join.
It will all be about tactics and a bit of luck so are you a Boycott or a Botham.

No panic you have until Friday 16th October to select which league your first over will come from and of course study the form.
Please take time to read and understand the game as set out below, any questions please ask.

First Over Matches over the weekend Friday 16th Oct to Monday 19th.

The Game -
The Game will be based on the 20 over game of cricket hence played over 20 fixture weeks or until all players are bowled out (lost 10 wickets).
The Winner will be the player that accumulates most runs irrespective of number of wickets lost.
Opponents (bowlers) are classed as the various designated leagues listed below.

How to play
1. Each Over (fixture week) select which Opponent (league) will bowl to you.
You can't select the same bowler (league) consecutive weeks but can use again later (bowlers don't do consecutive overs).
You can only use a bowler (league) a maximum of 4 times in total over length of the game (bowlers get 4 overs in 20 over games).

2. Then you select 6 teams (an over) irrespective of who they play against from your chosen bowler (league).
Each team is given a allocated number of runs (1, 2, 3, 4 or 6).
If any of your teams win their run allocation is added to your score.
If any of your selected teams draw it will count as a dot ball with no runs added.
If any of your selected teams lose you will lose a wicket.
If you make an error selecting a ineligible team it will counts as a dot ball with no runs added.
If any of your teams doesn't play or have game abandoned it will be classed as a dot ball with no runs added.

3. Watch your score build each week.
If you lose 10 wickets you are out and have no more goes but your run total will count in the final result.
If you lose your 10th wicket in the middle of an over the following teams won't count.
The winner will be the person with most runs at the end irrespective of lost wickets.

I'll try, but be gentle when I completely misinterpret the rules. Not much cricket where I'm from...

This Game is now officially Open and will start with fixture weekend Fri 16th Oct to Mon 19th Oct so plenty of time to study the rules, form then enter.

If you are unsure of anything please ask.

This game I suspect may prove to be one of our best yet with a mix of skill, good tactics and luck required, just like Cricket :D

Why not join the fun its open to all members, don't worry if you don't like Cricket we only use a Sponge Ball not those hard things that hurt. ;)

I'll give it a go but I'm rubbish at any game that require the use of a stick type thing.

BTW if the game is over isn't once enough?

Write your entry something like this each week -

This is a Example (write you entry something like this) -

Bowler - Premier League
1. Leeds
2. Liverpool
3. West Brom
4. Man Utd
5. Crystal Palace
6. Newcastle

So lets imagine Leeds, Liverpool & Newcastle all win, West Brom & Palace draw and Man Utd lose.
Your score after one over would be -

Bowler - Premier League
1. Leeds - 2
2. Liverpool - 1
3. West Brom - 0
4. Man Utd - wicket
5. Crystal Palace - 0
6. Newcastle - 4
Total - 7 for 1 after one over
