I only knew cos I remembered Richard Keys boasting about it a year or so ago.

They only just touched the edges though. They spent one season in Div 3 North during the Thirties, after relegation from Div 2, and then one season in Div 4 at the end of the Fifties.

If they were to be relegated this year. They will have been in Divs 1, 2, 3 (N and S), 4, The Premier League, Championship, and Leagues 1 and 2.

Arsenal beat Anderlect over two legs and were 3-0 down after 80 minutes but pulled a late goal back to lose 3-1 in Belgium. Then went on to win 3-0 at highbury to take the Inter Cities Fairs cup.
I've a mate who is a Arse fan and remember him mentioning it numerous times, still at least i can tell him we beat his team in two cup finals  .
Absolutely. It was a great period for English clubs in Europe. From 1967 to 76, ten different English teams reached European Finals. In the thirty-seven years since 1976, only eleven different English teams have reached European Finals.

Also, English clubs filled 40% of available places in European Finals between those years, a record that beats all other countries except Italy, whose clubs beat that record during the Nineties.

The Coventry question had to be a midlands club to play in both 3rd north and south.

Once upon a time i used to set the local pub quiz and its developed a knack of remembering obscure facts, also blessed with a bit of a photographic memory, always handy for the odd quiz.

Sunderland did it in 1979, Villa did it in 1981 but who did it in 1980 ?

Brooking. :D

Although at the time, the BBC commentator announced the scorer as Pearson. The correct scorer was dubbed into the commentary later.

Just been looking at the premierships history and stats and Leeds are in 12th position for the most wins.
We are Leeds, we have to believe our new players are good enough, encourage and support them and help them grow in to a team to be reckoned with. MoT

Another clue - obscurity rating ....... Extremely obscure, even though he played more than 200 games. Plus ..... He's Scottish.

There are five English clubs in the top 4 divisions whose full names start and end in the same letter. So to take an example from Scotland Dundee United.

Can you name them?
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....
