Introduction with old money

Post by LeedsUtd1965 »

Hi everyone, just introducing myself as per advice from Selby White lol.
From over in the North of Ireland over Glenshane pass and down North West way.
First bet of "6d" for those who remember them as a 13 year old with my cousin who was 20 and an Everton supporter way back in 1965, .
02 Feb 1965 Everton v Leeds United W 1-2 FA Cup
Never ever got to a game so I would term myself as a follower rather than a supporter.Never really had the money to get over to see one.
Still I see them on telvision when I get the chance and would have loved them to get back up where they belong PREMIER LEAGUE.
Asked question out of frustration about the player's when they should have really went back to where they belong
Cheers everyone
Especially Selby

As for 6d there are plenty of us remember them and a couple that remember Groats.

Enjoy the forum.

And right on cue here I am. Yes indeed welcome in, its a right friendly place. Sister- in - law married a reprobate of a fella from just outside Feeny, yours truly was best man and in my speech I likened the Glenshane Pass to the Ice wall in Game of Thrones that keeps the wildlings out and away from us cultured townies :D Lovely part of the world it is up there.

So stick your pin in our map or let me know where you'd like it stuck and I'll put it in for you

Welcome in. I was at Goodison Park for the 1965 FA Cup game. I was only a young lad of 29 then! One of the managers where I worked had a company car and four of us went to the game. Still got the ticket stub for that game.
I once played against Don Revie.

Just checked on the ticket stub. The game I went to was played on the 28 January 1964. I am also sure the score was 2 -0 to Everton.

Just checked: After 1 - 1 draw at ER on 25th January, replay on 28th January Everton won 2 - 0.

So I was even younger, 28!
