2016/17 Transfer Rumours and Squad Discussions
Re: 2016/17 Transfer Rumours and Squad Discussions
According to Wikipedia O'Kane has scored 48 goals in 101 appearances at Bournemouth. That would be a good ratio even for a striker, so if he can maintain that for us and we work out how to defend, we might just make it into the top half(not that, that would be anything like acceptable)
Re: 2016/17 Transfer Rumours and Squad Discussions
Someone else has added that in - that's incorrect. He only scored 6 goals in 115 appearances for Bournemouth, in all competitions.damols13 wrote:According to Wikipedia O'Kane has scored 48 goals in 101 appearances at Bournemouth. I did find it odd that nobody seemed to know much about him, given those figures, either that or he had scored loads in the lower leagues then suddenly stopped playing regular and/or scoring

As long as he scores goals, then he will do for me.

Must admit I've never heard of OKane, I've just looked at Wikipedia & noted he's played 4 times for the ROI any of our Irish members tell us a bit more about the lad ?
Just looked at a Bournemouth forum & all the posts on a thread dedicated to him are very complimentary saying he gives 100%, has a good footballing brain & is a really decent fella.

So that's 11 new signings this summer and we kept hold at Charlie Taylor, at least for now. In my opinion have a better squad than at any time since MC took over, surely that shows some ambition.
Now let's see if they, and Monk, can deliver. That he has been backed in the transfer market, cannot be disputed.

I think O'Kane is a good signing. He has experience of achieving things that our younger midfielders lack, which is important. He sounds like the link between defence and attack.
Overall, our squad has definitely improved. Has it improved enough? I'm not so sure.

Whilst I agree with everybody about the squad being the strongest under MC. The flipside of this will mean Monk comes under even more pressure to deliver on all ours dreams of a return to the promised land. I still think were about £20m pounds short in real terms of quality tho to go up.
