Reporter to Strachan: So,Gordon, in what areas do you think Boro were better than us today? Strachan: "What areas? mainly that big green one out there..." Another Strachan classic: "Gordon, you must be delighted with that result?" Strachan: "you are spot on, you can read me like a book!" and finally, Reporter: "Gordon, what is your impression of Jermaine Pennant?" Strachan: "i don't do impressions"

Vinny Jones: "i'm a conservative but i talk for the ordinary working classes. I get on with the boys in the pub, but i can also mix with prince andrew. I understand both levels!" he followed with "i would never say no to becoming an MP."

And my final one although not funny deserves inclusion! Rodostin Kishishev: " When i finish with football, i will be able to say that 'i played for Leeds United'. No one will ask which division i was in, they will just know that it was the biggest club that i played for."

Batty was the one and to this day I don't know if he's the funniest man in the world, saying this completely deadpan, or if he really didn't give a flying fig and treated football as a job :
(on winning the league, sitting on Lee Chapman's sofa)

" Aye .. it were a bonus "
