Does Matt Smith look the spitting image of John Charles? I hope he turns out to be half the player King John was.

I do actually think Dom Poleon has a similar look, stature wise rather than facial, to Terry Connor but I keep it quiet as some loons would think I was being racist

Smith's got similar hairstyle to Charlesy and of course is a big fella, and he's a human male adult, that's about the sum total of likenesses for me I can see why you think it though, am not really being sarky

To be fair, I think Poleon might have more potential ability than TC had, and I loved Connor when he seemed to be the Leeds saviour

Before my time, but looking at google images I can see the likeness.

It crossed my mind that Smith was a similar shape to Big John too, both facially and physique. I never saw John Charles play in the flesh for Leeds but watched him many times in his later years when he played at centre half for Hereford United, particularly when they regularly played my Worcester City in the old Southern League. My recollection of JC was his huge forehead - I have likened it to a breeze block before - , his huge backside, and immense thighs. In every respect Matt Smith has those same features though he seems less mobile than JC was. As others have said, if he only becomes half the player John was we will be in for a treat!

Not meaning to be horrible to Matt Smith, but if he looks like John Charles I would say that's where the similarities end!
