Delighted for Steve, A really likable man. He helped us when it was needed and could have done better for us if Cellino didn't stick his idiotic mannerisms in the way. Hope he gets the success he deserves and Cellino gets his just failings he deserves.

None Taken ANS. That's why this forum is the best because we can all have differing opinions and still make this forum work.

Steve Evans was another in a long line of Odd Ball appointments. He had a difficult task in many respects having to deal with the barmy Italian but constantly kept wittering away about managing Glasgow Celtic and Real Madrid. He thought he had "arrived" and certainly enjoyed the stage that being associated with Leeds United gave him.

At the end of the season his contract was not renewed / he was sacked although he kept banging away about the players we wanted in the close season. We then got Garry Monk - a man who thought he saw greener grass. The rest is history.

Pleased for him, I liked him, think he knew it was a special (or strange) set of circumstances that he ended up as our manager I think he did his best & i'm sure he'll be telling his grandkids one day that he managed Leeds United :)

Would have liked McCormack back here for a season now we have a growing injury list.

He will find it way harder this time as the Central Coast came bottom of the A league last season and struggled to score goals, McCormack will help on that front but the Mariners midfield aren't the most creative bunch of players. He did really well at Melbourne City last season but that was in a way better team who put chances on a plate for him. Be more interesting to see if he lasts the whole season with them.
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

Gary Monk in the press: https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/ ... -1-9360148

“I think it’s fantastic for Andrea and the club, it’s good to see they decided this year is the year."

“They have invested heavily in the club, probably learned from the mistakes they made last year and Andrea has openly said that."

It just makes me laugh; despite him trying to give a positive interview he just can't hide that chip on his shoulder!

The wonder of this season is what Bielsa has done with exactly the same first team (plus Douglas).
