Ex-Player/Manager Watch
Re: Ex-Player/Manager Watch
Well done Chris Wood, another 2 today. I was very wrong when I said he would not be good enough.

If it’s any consolation pal, I was another who thought he was nowhere near a Premier League player .Dubleeds wrote:Well done Chris Wood, another 2 today. I was very wrong when I said he would not be good enough.
When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

Some didn't think that he was good enough for us. Mentioning no names.Barlow Boy wrote:If it’s any consolation pal, I was another who thought he was nowhere near a Premier League player .Dubleeds wrote:Well done Chris Wood, another 2 today. I was very wrong when I said he would not be good enough.

No mate, he means a certain member who frequents our table in the Pavilion.Dubleeds wrote:Not sure I ever said that? I think playing under a decent manager and with decent players helps.
I once played against Don Revie.

Lewis Cook called into the England squad for his first senior cap.

Re: Ex-Player/Manager Watch
I'm really impressed with that squad and Southgate generally.
I love that he's picked the two from Burnley and Alfie Mawson too - anything that keeps Cahill out of the squad is fine by me.
I truly believe it's time to put our faith in youth and just have a go with a young, fearless team this summer, just as Germany did at 2010 when they blooded the group that included Neuer, Muller and Ozil from their successful 21s side.

Lewis Cook is starting tonight alongside Jordan Henderson in England's midfield.
