By my reckoning, we need to sign the following players :

DC - FIRST CHOICE CENTRE-BACK
MC - FIRST CHOICE CREATIVE/GOAL-SCORING CENTRAL MIDFIELDER
AMRL - FIRST CHOICE WINGER/WIDE FORWARD
SC - FIRST CHOICE STRIKER

DC - BACK-UP CENTRE-BACK

... and we need to sell Taylor (£3m), Bellusci (£500k), Dave (free), Murphy (£250k) and Erwin (£100k) giving us a total revenue of approximately £4m.

For me Doukara and Roofe belong in the strikers section, even though they've rarely been played there. Or a sub section for 'support strikers' which better describes Roofe and possibly even Hernandez. My hope is that given a full summer to prepare and with good recruitment, Monk won't feel the need to play players out of position and that whenever we line up, everyone who does play is a specialist in that position. It seems obvious but for me players are rarely at their most effective otherwise.
