Spot on, but how many owners will actually take it in ?

Good read but we're in a different situation compared to those managers in the PL. The Chairmen/Owners etc in the PL panic because they fear relegation from the PL and know full well it isn't easy coming straight back up. It's all about the income these clubs generate in the PL which is why they never hesitate to sack someone regardless of A. who they are and B. how long they've been there. If you look at the managers who have been sacked so far, De Boer aside, I think they've been warranted. Bilic had all last season as well as the beginning of this season to turn fortunes around but it didn't work out. Koeman just didn't replace Lukaku and because of that, they had nothing up front. Shakespeare was always on a hiding to nothing after Ranieri got sacked.

Yeah, I know what you mean and you make a good point.
It would be interesting to see a similar report for our division, looking at the 8 games before and after a sacking over the last 15 years.

I can't help thinking there'd be more of a positive impact because of the nature of the division itself, the increased competition within it and a number of specialist managers who've found their level down here - Warnock and co.

Listening to Angus Kinnear’s hour long interview on Radio Leeds tonight, it doesn’t sound like TC is going anywhere soon, which is the correct decision for me.

If we were to lose to Boro' and Wolves would you be of the same opinion BB? Would a point even be good enough?

Kinnear stressed that, at the beginning of the season, a play off spot was the target, and as far as the board are concerned that’s still well within reach, and they are way off panicking at this stage. In my view, that’s probably why they are still comfortable, but a poor run through Christmas (where there are a lot of games) may see a change, but I don’t see that happening over the next couple of games from what he was saying.

To be honest, with a new manager, and a whole bunch of new players thrown into the mix (not to mention the loss of Green, Taylor, Bartley and Wood) I thought a play off spot was ambitious, but my expectations grew (probably falsely) due to the start we made.

I completely understand why the fans are turning, but TC can only play with the cards he has been dealt, and if anything, we should be casting glances at the recruitment side of things (only Saiz has shown a consistent level of performance) and it’s not TC’s fault many of the recruits aren’t up to it - admittedly still early days for some.

We should keep in mind that it's not just the new recruits that have been inconsistent.

Funnily enough Kev, I didn't read it (or listen to it!) like that. Yes, Kinear said exactly what you'd expect and gave all the confidence/support comments but there was something there that left me in no doubt he hasn't got for ever to sort the current run out. I still maintain that Boro and Wolves could be lost and he'd be OK but if we did lose those AND then lost at Barnsley I'd be amazed if he was retained.
