Favourite all time player
Re: Favourite all time player
Dacourt was fantastic!
From the 90's it would be Gary Speed and McAllister.
From our peak in the 2000's it would have to be Harry Kewell. I know he's tarnished his reputation with the club, but at his peak he was almost unplayable. Those European nights at Elland Road were just fantastic!

I've been giving this some thought and my answer might not be that popular.
All-time favourite (with hindsight): Billy Bremner
Player who I idolised most while he was at Leeds: Eric Cantona

Peter Barnes was another one, though he was crap for us.
I loved him for England and when he was at WBA in the BFR era.
There's just something about left-wingers .. and we'd already had arguably the best of all time, certainly from these isles anyway.

Talking of WBA ( ) How good was Laurie Cunningham? Only seen documentary footage tbh. What a player, at a time when certain crowds were still throwing banana skins on the pitch. He reminded me of Bale, when he was good at Spurs in his last season.

The whole team was a joy to watch and incredibly effective. I just wish they'd won the league because they deserved to.Viduka Hits The Mark wrote:Talking of WBA ( ) How good was Laurie Cunningham? Cunningham was arguably the best English player around at that time and it was no surprise when he went to Real Madrid.
They had Tony Godden in goal - real quality - with Batson at right back and Statham on the left, while old pro John Wile was at centre-half. Bomber Brown in midfield along with Bryan Robson who really was the complete player until the injuries took their toll.
Cyrille Regis was an absolute monster up top too - looked like a heavyweight boxer but was so skillful at the same time.
Cracking side, a bit like that QPR squad that finished 2nd too, with Gerry Francis and Stan Bowles in it.
Re: Favourite all time player
My favourite all time Leeds player is Terry Cooper
Re: Favourite all time player
Leeds: Giles, followed by Billy
ROI : Mc Grath, Heighway, Stapo, and today Wessy
ROW: Cantona, my all time hero in football full stop. All round character was brilliant, French arrogance wonderful and kung-fu kick was special. (Of course he wasn't the best player of all time).
