Really sad news.

R.I.P. Jimmy Armfield.

The board didn't even back him when the 4 year ban was handed out, but he went himself to Geneva and got it reduced to 2 years.

At least the club paid him for the air fare after he returned.

Sadly missed, seemed a lovely man. RIP Jimmy, I doubt anyone could have done any better a job of the shambles he took over.

A fact that's often overlooked is that Jimmy was a member of the 1966 World Cup winning squad.

Radio 5 Live are running tribute programmes tonight, I think there’s one at 7pm and then an interview with the great man at 10pm.

Apparently Jimmy asked the producers if they would be using the interview on the day he died, to which they replied yes, of course. Jimmy laughed and said well we’d better make it a bloody good one then

R I P Jimmy, what a great manager he was. He was at the helm when I was really getting into Leeds in the mid 70's, totally nice guy, a true gent, what a sad day.
