Excellent.

Looking at our development squad yesterday and the quality football they played I think our need for high cost signings will become far less of a necessity.
MB and his coaching team are the big signing and having a real impact on the Club, definately the right people to teach and develop our youngsters.

From the OS:-

Forward’s injury prognosis confirmed.

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford faces four months on the sidelines after suffering a PCL injury during last Friday’s Under-23s game against Bristol City at Elland Road.

Bamford joined the Whites from Middlesbrough during the summer transfer window and has impressed on several occasions since making the move.

Director of Football Victor Orta said: “This is clearly disappointing news for Patrick and for everyone at Leeds United.

“Patrick has settled in well, quickly becoming an important player for Marcelo Bielsa and a popular part of the group.

“We have an excellent medical team at the club and Patrick is in the best possible hands, he will be back available to us during an important part of the season and he will still play a key role in our campaign.”

Head of Medicine and Performance Rob Price added: “Patrick is a very fit footballer and whilst this is a setback for all concerned, we have spoken to some of the best consultants in the country to make the correct diagnosis quickly.

“My team will work with Patrick to get him back involved with the first team as fast as possible.”

Patrick would like to thank the Leeds United fans for the messages of support he has received over the weekend.

Incredibly frustrating to see. Hopefully, at the very least, it means that Roberts will get opportunities up front (where I think he will be better than at RW) and Clarke will move up the winger pecking order.

According to Phil Hay....

Berardi - Out for three weeks, knee injury.
Roofe - Out for two to three weeks, calf injury.
Hernandez - Out for four to five weeks, hamstring injury.
Bamford - Out for four months, ligament damage.
When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

On the OS now as well.

We are going to struggle without Roofe & Hernandez in particular. Berardi has been excellent as well so far.

Step up for Roberts now who has been disappointing for me despite his injury. I would also bring Clarke into the team.

Not the game we want away at Millwall with these injuries.

Thx for the update BB. Wasn't that bothered about Bamford's injury but now looking at those times out through injury is a slight cause for concern. I wonder if Bielsa's tough pre-season training and matchday's have played a major part in these injuries.
