I would be surprised if not shocked if anything at all happens other than some out goings. There simply is not the money available to pay for any more salaries.

Bottom line seems to be that we are losing money week by week. :(

Andrea Radrizanni admitted as much when Vieira was sold in order to bring in Bamford. How we were going to afford Vydra for a deal of more money would be a good question.

Around 4 months ago there was an article that set out the accounting picture:

I am no accountant, nor do I understand football finance generally or the position of LUFC in particular but the rumour mill continues to be in full swing linking this player and that. This is just my personal opinion that we are unlikely to see any new players coming in much as Marcelo Bielsa (and the fans - me included) might desire that.

It's a big leap to state that there is simply no money available though mate!

We're top of the division, we're still in the LC and we are getting great homes attendances, so money is coming in. Running a steady outfit at the moment, if they agree that we need player loans in still then I wouldn't be surprised to get one or two.

I think there will be some movement in the loan market, we do need some cover at the back. Anybody heard any news on the extent of the injury to Coops?

I agree that we're unlikely to see any big money permanent signings coming in (under loan-to-buy agreements), but as ANS says it's a big jump from that to "we're broke"! In fact it seems that we're in a much more stable financial position than for a long-time. It's also worth remembering that most clubs factor player trading into their financial planning, rather than seeing money from player sales as additional funds that can be allocated to improving the team. Some clubs even build their entire business model around player sales as their main form of revenue (Fleetwood are a good example). Clubs don't run in the way they do on FM - a fixed pot for salaries, a fixed pot for transfers, a fixed pot for infrastructure etc. It's all fluid, and just because we needed to sell a player to bring one in, doesn't mean we're in a financial mess.

Of course in the EFL a club is only a couple of bad years or a relegation away from a serious financial crisis, but at the moment I think we're in as good a position as we have been for a while. We've improved the squad no end without overspending/gambling on costly players, we've reluctantly sold a player lots of us liked, and we own our own stadium, which we now pack out.

Maybe we don't have much money if we are accepting 5mil for Pontus...

Seems low to me.
