I’ve watched it several times, and still cannot work out of it gets a deflection from the defender.

No link of the clip that I could see anywhere on the official site, certainly not on that page anyway - another example of how poor our web presence is.

If it did take a deflection, it was tiny. I don't think it did, looking at the curl of the ball as it turns in the air.

Yep definite deflection but still think it would have went in.
