Potential targets after promotion
Re: Potential targets after promotion
Milner would be perfect for a few reasons :
1. He would be a totemic signing and a real statement : "We're back !"
2. He would be an ideal captain
3. He would be fantastic in front of the back four
4. He can play multiple roles in the side
5. His experience would be invaluable in bringing through the kids and - though I hate the term - for game management

I would agree although not part of a deal that sees Clarke go the other way. I would rather stick with Clarkerigger wrote:Milner would be perfect for a few reasons :

My money is on mistaken identity and Shadwell means Phillips, in response to Point 3 in your post.rigger wrote:

When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.
Re: Potential targets after promotion
But I didn't mention Phillips either.
We're gonna need two players for each position if we go up.
Now, given Bielsa's squad size preference that will probably equate to 20 in total with a few utility men, like Milner, Alioski and Shackleton.

You didn't but there were loads of rumours when Milner was first mentioned that Liverpool had their eye on Clarke.rigger wrote:

Milner is a free agent in the summer, so Clarke wont be going anywhere.Shadwell White wrote:You didn't but there were loads of rumours when Milner was first mentioned that Liverpool had their eye on Clarke.rigger wrote:

I think Milner would be an excellent addition, covering DM and M as well an experienced head/captain. I not sure his fitness would be a concern with Klopp playing a similar style and Milner a model pro.
Wingers and an AM seem to be the glaring weaknesses in the side from my point of view.

Won’t even think about this until May.
