Which are the rules of the playoffs?

Hi. I'm chilean so I don't know how playoffs work.

Can anyone explain to me the system?

4th vs 5th
Semi final of two legs, home away.
Winner of each game play in final at Wembley.

Based on the way things are currently, yes.

Just to clarify : the two teams finishing in the higher position play the second leg at their home ground to give them an advantage due to their better finish in the league.

This means it plays out like this, assuming the teams stay as they are :

A1. Derby v Leeds
B1. Boro v WBA


A2. Leeds v Derby
B2. WBA v Boro

FINAL = winner of A v winner of B in a one-off match at Wembley. If scores tied at full time, 30 mins ET is played then it goes to penalties.

In the first leg on Saturday, May 11, match A will see the team which finishes in sixth position playing the team which finishes third and match B will see the team in fifth position taking on the team in fourth.

The reverse fixtures will take place on Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15.
Championship play-off dates 2018/19


Saturday, May 11 - 12.30pm

Championship A first leg

Saturday, May 11 - 5.15pm

Championship B first leg

Tuesday, May 14 - 7.45pm

Championship A second leg

Wednesday, May 15 - 7.45pm

Championship B second leg

Monday, May 27 - 3pm

@Scottish Leeds - I was about to post the same info, :lol:

Just to add the FA may switch A and B around once consulting with the police. Sunderland and Doncaster both in line for League 1 play offs and A first leg is also on 11th

Cant see why they would switch as we would be away at Derby in the 12.30pm kick off but then west midlands police might want to change the villa/wba game i suppose.
