Biorythms - Do they work

Postby Selby White » 08 May 2019, 08:16

Not sure everyone on here will know what Biorythms are.

They are cycles your body goes through that dictate good and bad days in various areas with physical, emotional and intellectual been thought the main three.
Now this isn't black and white and scientists argue about it.

Its something I learned about when doing sports coaching and its use in individual sports (eg boxers deciding the best time to take a fight).

So thought I'd relate it to our players but only using the physical cycle which will be basis of strength and stamina (although other areas may dictate overall performance).
Remember with some players such as Kalvin the difference between a good and poor game may be 6/10 to 10/10. Where a Jack Harrison maybe 2/10 to 8/10 due to lack of consistency.

Take the Ipswich match the physical biorhythm indicated :-

Pontus & Dallas should have had good games.

Kalvin, Pablo, Roofe average games

Ayling and Klich poor games.

The rest average to low.

I stole 1964's match ratings which if you agree with them proves its not an exact science but is certainy in the right parish.
Ratings

1 Casilla
5 Ayling
5 Jansson
5 Cooper
6 Dallas
9 Phillips STAR MAN Mr Consistent as ever
5 Hernandez
4 Klich
3 Forshaw
2 Harrison
1 Roofe
Subs
4 Clarke
Remember i only used one particular biorythm and others may also have an effect.

Ok on to Pride Park and based on the same Biorythm as above these are my predictions :-

Key players Kalvin & Pablo are both on a absolute high :D

Jack Clarke is also on a high (are you reading Marcelo  )

Klich & Ayling are in a good place (above their average)

Pontus neither high or low so average for him but not disaterous.

Kiko, Coops, Dallas, Harison & Beradi are in the negative cycle so a worry

Roofe & Forshaw at absolute bottom of their powers

Of course not done Derby's players and that is just as important.

As i say its not a exact science we will see.

Hold on, hold on .. I'm confused : how do you know the physical biorhythm indicated anything for the Ipswich game ?
How do you get this information ??
Is it based on their birth date or something ?

There has to be some science behind this but you haven't explained how you come to draw those conclusions.

Also, judging whether someone had a good game or not is purely subjective.
Talk to any pro and they'll tell you that a Shane Long, an Emile Heskey and a Mick Jones had brilliant careers and were fantastically effective players to play alongside, yet ask any fan who doesn't support a side they played for and they'll be "a bit sh*t" or not as good as Ings, Owen or Clarke respectively.
I think Harrison's position may have as much to do with any kind of rating. How many consistent wingers have there ever been ?
Stanley Matthews, John Barnes and Chris Waddle from these shores ?
Garrincha, Littbarski and Jesper Olsen from abroad ?

But never mind about the flim-flam, show me the science, baby :D

I have to admit I have never really looked into this before. Very interesting I have to say.

I just tried this website and compared the Biorhythms with myself and my Mrs and although the birth-dates are different we ended up pretty similar on the three main rhythms. May have to look into this in a more detailed way to get my head around it more. Thanks for that Sir Selby.
