Leeds United have signed goalkeeper Elia Caprile on a permanent deal from Chievo Verona.

The 18-year-old has agreed a contract until the summer of 2023.

He has played for Italy at Under-18 level.

Assombalonga was out for over a year with a knee injury. Not sure how injury hit he's been since then but I imagine Bielsa's training intensity would be tough on it regardless.

No word regarding Poveda A replacement for Clarke would have been nice but even if he doesn't come we still have options and cover within the squad
However our priorities must remain
Replacement for Eddie - a must in case Paddy does recapture form :lolno: or gets injured ( we also might need a replacement for Tyler whose injury doesn't appear to be ready anytime soon)
Replacement for Forshaw - Philips is now out for 3 matches and we are banking on a young lad What would happen if Kalvin got injured.
Replacement for Cooper (if Cooper gets injured we are seriously lacking height at the back) The absence of a third choice CB lost us the play off last year.

However, I realise we will probably only get a striker. Would have been happy with Adams but not over enthused regarding the most recent names mentioned.

By the way Troy Parrott would be avilable and would be cover for Tyler and Jose won't give him any gametime,

Seems a necessary transfer, with Casilla's situation. Why the derision, should we hold these kind of deals until the holy strikers comes in?

According to Phil Hay, Assombalonga is "not on the main list"

Hard one to judge, he used to be the next big thing at this level a few years ago, but I remember being impressed by how useless both he and Fletcher were when we thrashed Boro a couple of months ago. We would have to be pretty confident about his fitness to bring him in at this stage of the season.

It feels like we're still hoping for / working on Adams + 1 or 2 more established others, but that's reading between trickles of twitter info with no further knowledge.

We are pretty reasonable at keeping things quiet these days, I can’t help thinking (wishful thinking) that we are going to pull something out of the bag.

just spotted this:

According to Adrian Kajumba, writing for the Mail Online, Leeds United are nearing the capture of Manchester City winger Ian Poveda “after agreeing deal” with the Premier League giants.

Hot on the heels of the capture of Italian youth international Elia Caprile, a goalkeeper landed from Chievo Verona, Leeds United are said by the Mail’s Kajumba to be closing in on Citizens winger Ian Poveda. Poveda, an England Under-20 international is thought to have been deemed surplus to requirements at The Etihad, Manchester City thought not to be offering him a new deal when his current one ends in the summer.

Poveda has been on the books of Premier League sides Chelsea and Arsenal as a youngster as well as a spell at Barcelona between 2012-2014. He was at Brentford for a single season (2015/16) before his move to the Etihad and Manchester City at the beginning of July 2016.

The Manchester City youngster is thought by Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa to be ready for the rough and tumble of the Sky Bet Championship without much fuss. The Athletic’s Phil Hay wrote here that Bielsa saw Poveda as as “first-team ready” and adds that Poveda is a player with “the ability to step into the Championship without a long period of acclimatisation.”

I know someone who works on the Take Me Home series. They say we will sign a striker and they're waiting on who to judge whether to go for 2 hrs or 5 hrs for the film I.e. they believe we won't get promoted without a great signing and don't want to make the same series as last year minus the excitement of signing Bielsa, nearly signing Dan James and Spygate.
