His development seems to have hit the buffers since that episode of illness he suffered; has not been right since.

It is a positive sign for us that we have a deal of potential ahead of Jack Clarke and don't have to automatically select him. I can understand why Spurs would be unhappy
From MB's press conference today:-

This morning's Clarke report - what are your thoughts when you see reports like this?

Always the source of the news is the most important. After you have a team of 20 players, you give a lot of opportunity to each of those 20 players.

I am really satisfied with Jack Clarke’s development, he’s at a good fitness level. Technically he is complete and he’s attitude today is very good.

He competes with Costa, Hernandez, Harrison. If one of them are left in the team and Clarke is participating after we were going to listen that the news about Costa, Pablo, Harrison.

I am satisfied working with Clarke and I am sure he’s going to be necessary and important to use in relation about the news you were talking about.

THe only way to answer to this news is Clarke who is saying that or some authority of Tottenham.

Leeds United expect Mateusz Klich to sign a new contract imminently and commit his long-term future to Elland Road.

LeedsLive understands the Poland international will underline his transformation under head coach Marcelo Bielsa with his signature on a new deal in the coming days.

Luke Ayling is also believed to be nearing an agreement on a new contract which should follow soon after Klich’s in a prolific spell of new deals at LS11.

It's great to see the club are tying down the more experienced players after years of mismanagement by the owners of old.

If there's one thing about Radz is that when he makes mistakes in these regards he usually learns from them soon after. Finally something positive to see. It's been a rough few days after the Derby game but all in all the team have moved on and so should we fans.

It’s a difficult one to call given we hope to be promoted and therefore over time Philips, Shackleton apart the team is likely to be replaced. Personally I think we’ve extended Dallas & Coopers deal for too long. All those increased salaries, has impacted our effectiveness in the transfer market, however there needs to be a degree of squad salary parity to retain harmony in the dressing room.

I actually thought we bottled it a bit with Roofe, he’d have extended post the transfer deadline and certainly would have had we been in sight of promotion in April. Whilst we may have replaced him with a superior player, and might have had to forsake a £6m fee had he left for nothing; we have incurred a £4m sunk cost in terms of Nketiah’s loan fee.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst.

Let's say we get promoted, then the costs of their wages won't be a burden on the club. How many PL teams have players on their books who are probably paid more but don't get to play? They will be quad players on the bench or may be loaned out. If we go up and get relegated after one or two seasons then we still have players who know how to play in the championship and should help us bounce back. We don't want to do a Huddersfield and get rid of players and replace them with ones who can't keep us up but then don't want / can't play at Championship level.

The club probably couldn't justify getting Nketiah on loan if we had not sold Roofe (unless we sell the stadium to ourselves for double its value). There's not much difference betweening keeping Roofe and letting him go on a free at the end of the season and having a loan player who leaves at the end of the season, in that either way we would need a new striker. At least this way looks like they are trying to improve the squad to make it this time rather than assume the same squad can push further to make it.

Good news that these 5 have signed on for the future:-

Under-23 stars sign new contracts.

Leeds United are pleased to announce Bryce Hosannah, Pascal Struijk and Kun Temenuzhkov have all put pen to paper on new contracts to remain at Elland Road for the foreseeable future.

Right-back Hosannah, 20, joined the club in 2017 from Crystal Palace has been a regular for the Under-23s since his arrival at the Whites.

Dutch youth international centre-back Struijk, formerly of Ajax, has been rewarded following an impressive start to the season with the Under-23s, netting two goals and helping keep four clean sheets in the five games he has been involved in.

Bulgaria Under-21 international striker Temenuzhkov, joined club from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 and a series of impressive performances with the Under-23s led to a first team debut last season.

The trio join Charlie Cresswell and Stuart McKinstry in signing deals, after they also penned pro contracts earlier today.

As I said it’s a difficult one to call however 1. The cost of the wages will be a burden on the club by their existence. Additionally it may prove difficult to offload the players without us making up wage differences to purchasing clubs. Had we maintained Roofe, and got promoted I’m pretty sure he would have signed a new deal, indeed I strongly believe he would have signed a new deal by now given he would have faced the prospect of 9 months on say £10k per week or 2 years on £20k per week effectively making the second year worth £30k per week for him. The issue at Huddersfield is somewhat different the majority of players have had their wages cut 40% therefore they are demotivated and want out. The irony of the situation is they have given Mooy a new contract and if they get relegated :D his salary will be greater than annual season ticket sales! Given he’s not really playing at Brighton they may end up giving him away and funding part of his wages

No Hernandez against Charlton, muscular problem, Costa starts.

The great man can probably do with the rest anyway. Real chance for Costa to nail down his position. It'll be interesting to see how he and Bamford link up over a full match

Have to agree regarding Hernandez, it will do him no harm to have a rest for a couple of weeks.
