Re: York and Guiseley games
Casey and Jenkins stepping up from the under 18s to the under 23s will be interesting to see how they progress as the season goes on.
Struijk played left back and was comfortable but would have liked to see him in the centre with Casey instead it was Hosannah with Gotts at right back.

Solid first hit out by the team, good to see some of the kids get a run.
Hope they got their passports ready now!

Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.
Re: York and Guiseley games
Just home from the game at York, and what was virtually a full strength team for the first half played very well, with lots of slick passing and interplay, and fairly clinical finishing .......... though Bamford seemed half asleep, needlessly getting caught offside several times.
Pablo was just Pablo, dispensing his particular magic, and making it look easy, and Jack Harrison never stopped running all night, largely to good effect.
The second half was a complete change around, with the exception of Casilla, and one or two caught the eye.
Unfortunately, the match programme didn't show the Leeds players squad numbers, but the tall number 5, playing left back, and the stocky number 24, in midfield are two to watch .......... I was just impressed by those two as I was this time last year, seeing Jamie Shackleton for the first time.
So, an encouraging first pre-season fixture.

Re: York and Guiseley games
The tall number 5 was Pascal Struijk who was outstanding in the under 23s last season and who should hopefully kick on this season, the number 24 was Jenkins who was with the under 18s last season so will be interesting to see how he plays when the under 23s get going.yorkfan wrote:Just home from the game at York, and what was virtually a full strength team for the first half played very well, with lots of slick passing and interplay, and fairly clinical finishing .......... though Bamford seemed half asleep, needlessly getting caught offside several times.

Re: York and Guiseley games
Pascal Struijk was playing left back, normally a centre half.
Re: York and Guiseley games
Cheers, Scottish Leeds, Struijk and Jenkins it is, then.
At last year's fixture, featuring more of the younger players, we picked out Shackleton as a future star, and he has blossomed nicely last season.
These two stood out last night, so fingers crossed.

Maybe didn’t give BPF a run to save any potential aggro from their crowd given that he was returned from there last(?) year.SCOTTISH LEEDS wrote:61 mins in and wholesale changes as only Kiko stays on and the 10 outfield players are changed.

Kamil Miazak was the sub keeper last night, i would expect BPF to play tonight.Grumpy wrote:Maybe didn’t give BPF a run to save any potential aggro from their crowd given that he was returned from there last(?) year.SCOTTISH LEEDS wrote:61 mins in and wholesale changes as only Kiko stays on and the 10 outfield players are changed.
Re: York and Guiseley games
I seen someone post on FB that a section of the Leeds fans were giving Bamford some abuse from the stands? Apparently Bamford was within hearing distance when it was happening and he acknowledged them with some disdain.
Why are some of our fans persistent in getting on players backs (if true), this is a pre season friendly and the players shouldn't have to have this done.

They probably feel if he'd put away some of the chances he had in the last three or four matches of the season then we wouldn't have missed out on promotion.
In this black and white age of entitlement, where a scapegoat is hanged from every streetlight every night, it's their right to demand he be the next.
Didn't you see the memo in The Sun ? Or was it the Daily Mail ??
Sad, but true ..
