Just I case it happens to others and puts them of posting.

I had tried posting several times both on an iPad and iPhone since being away. Some posted ok others I gave up on as I kept getting an error message after submitting. I have now discovered that any posts in which I use a "Smillie" return the error and won't submit, those without are fine.

Can't tell if it's a location thing or just a coincidence I'm away.

It's probably an Apple thing.
They have their own emoticons I believe - just to be bloody awkward, because they love that - and I would imagine they're coded differently to the standard ones you get on most message boards or Android phones.

Try logging in on a non-Apple machine - maybe the wife's phone or a PC in an internet café (the hotel might have one in the lobby) and see if it still does it then ..

Yeah even if it's not I'm going to blame apple anyway #hateappleido Not too bothered about the smillies as long as I post.

If you hate Apple, why touch their products ??
They're so invasive .. I refuse to ever use i-Tunes or any of their stuff because it just takes over every bloody device up to, and probably these days including, the toaster

Phone is a works phone iPad is Tracey's. Should have brought my trusty laptop lol Always loved my samsungs especially the notes. T has an old iPhone 4 but ordered an Hauwei before we left so at least that'll be one less Apple around.

Bit late on this but think Rigger is spot on and it's a iPhone issue.
I use a hauwei android often abroad without the issue.
