So last year we were 5 pts ahead of Derby and 8 points ahead of Villa, in 8th. This year we are 8 points ahead of 3rd place. Whilst we can't afford to be lax it does look a lot better than last season. We are 4pts on last season but finished in 3rd spot 6pts behind 2nd so also need a better second half of the season. This time last year we were half way through the 7 game winning streak, but then only got 7 points from the 7 games after then. Many people look at the final 4 games which netted a single point from "that villa game" but you could say our January slump added the pressure initially.
Our 30th game is the Wigan game on 1st Feb - will we still be riding high, or suffered a slump again? To put it in perspective we were on 57pt's as were Norwich in 1st and Sh.U in 3rd on 54. However this year either we need to last longer to whether the end of season slow down or carry on firing on all cylinders.
